| ACT (Caution - Investigational Product) The company has also been collaborating in the development of an Activated Cellular Therapy (ACT) that uses the RIGS system to surgically locate specialized lymph node cells that can be grown and activated in a proprietary procedure. Patients’ own cells are then reinfused in an outpatient setting in an attempt to boost their immune systems against disease. In January 2005, Neoprobe formed a new subsidiary, CIRA Biosciences, Inc. (CIRA Bio), to explore the development of patient specific cellular therapies that have shown positive patient responses in a variety of clinical settings. CIRA Bio will combine Neoprobe’s Activated Cellular Therapy (ACT) technology for patient specific oncology treatment with similar technology licensed from CIRA LLC for treating viral (HIV/AIDS and hepatitis) and autoimmune diseases. Following a strategic assessment of the technology by a third party, CIRA Bio intends to raise capital to support the formal re-activation of development activities surrounding these technologies. Information on the clinical history and current development status of ACT can be obtained from Neoprobe’s recent press releases and filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
